I think I was not the only one disappointed that there was no announcements of a new Mac Mini and iMacs.. :(
I am gonna be at Mac World on Friday anybody gonna go?
PS: Yes I seen the new Mac Book Wheel lol :p

I ended up staying home and playing Devil May Cry 4 while my hubby went out with is friends. It was actually nice to have the house to myself and I got to take a nice needed nap.
As I mention before I am part of a group that is going to startup a new convention
in Sacramento, CA in 2010. We are going to be "representin" at Anime LA with a little program track on Sunday called "Your Next Convention."
Location will be in the foyer, near our Registration area.
Sunday, 1:00 pm. Spotlight: Ichiban-con
I made a flyer to be passed out at Anime LA but with time constraint, we couldn't print it out. Unfortunately I couldn't make it down there because of work and home
stuff, but maybe next year.

Thats HAWT
After all the Mandatory OT from work, I was able to score myself a 5 day weekend during Labor Day.
It is kinda fitting because of summer officially ending and that I got to hand out with friends and
family.
Last Thursday,
nuclearbastard and I went to Burlingame because he won a "date" with one of the guys from Maximum PC. I was going to go with him, but figured he doesn't need a chaperoned. I noticed that my drives side tire was under inflated and went to a gas station to fill it up. Thankfully I knew my way around the area and got that taken care of and then wander to the local mall there. Once his date was done, we went back up to SF and had to do my Kinokuniya run. I wanted to stay longer but we needed to get back home so my hubby wouldn't miss school.
Unfortunately we got stuck in the worse traffic I have ever endured.. 3 hours!! All due to a fire on Treasure Island which made getting out of SF a big clusterfuck. Rob ended up emailing his teacher to explain he wont be able to make it and just decided to go south on 101 to San Jose and get some dinner. We hit up Microcenter to see if they still had the refurb 360 pros but of course they were all spoken for. We ended up getting home around 11:30 and then went to sleep after that.
The rest of the weekend I hanged out with friends at Sac Anime and helped with an artist table
where my friend BSaphire sold a bunch of kawaii ears for people to wear/cosplay. Luckily the person
who had a table didn't show up until Saturday, so I was able to sell some of my fan art stuff there.
I made about $20 which isn't bad for not drawing for a while, I just wish I took the a pic of my Yoko fan art before I sold it :P Rob helped out with DJ Silver to do the Sac Anime Rave, we had a lot of fun and good times.
Here is a sketch/copic drawing I did of my friend xXchibiselphieXx:

Table setup:

My only gripe about hanging out at Sac Anime was the horrid attendees that trashed the place. There was garbage all over the place (inside and outside) even when there are garbage cans around. What was worse is the space is small so you get a nice whiff of Otaky funk. I told one of the guys running e-gamming that they should lite up insents to ward the funk away.. that would probally set off the fire alarm :( Also they should try having Cosplay Gong Show, there were a lot of shitty skits that just made me want to get a shepards hook and get the soap out and wash them LOLOLOL. I think that would make enduring cosplay masquerade a lot of fun (At least for me!!!!).
Like I always say: This is why we can't have nice things...
On Labor Day, I took my mom and brothers out to the State Fair since that was the last day. It was uneventful but it was nice to just get out with family and the weather was just perfect for the day.
Also ran into Jonas and Ramen and got to see the silly pics of Rob from an after party from Saturday night.. lol good lord!

After being bored reading twitter, I find out that an ex boyfriend is a new father. What is weird and ironic that when we talked about the future during our relationship that he would never want to have kids. Now I wonder if he really ment that he did not want to have kids with me -_-..
So went to SF to just get out of Sacramento and to visit my uncle. We parked in Union Square lot and as we got onto the elevator the world famous Naked Cowboy came out and was strumming along. It didn't phase me and all I said was wow there is the Naked Cowboy! Haha my poor brothers and mom, I think they just nodded and up we went!
Anywhoo I am reading perez hilton dot com and find out that he got arrested in Union Square! Gee you would think of all places that SF wouldn't give a shit! He should have strummed along Market and Castro instead :(

First: Good lord this heat! Jesus I wish I was back in the bay area
for that 74 degee weather... global warming FTL!
Second: I am starting to get into Facebook more then My Space.. well actually I think My Space kinda sucks and you really feel like you are in the internets ghetto. The one quirk I don't care for is the applications, but at least you can get rid of them. What is awesome is finding people you used to talk to back in the day. Jesus! I thought a lot of them drop off the face of the earth! Good to see them and talk about the old times. haha
Third: So after hearing how well AX was this year besides the gloom and doom about the anime industry. I am actually considering going, but mostly for the 20th anniversary and that it would be in 2012 when the world is suppose to end. I figured that would be a fitting time to visit and see all the other old farts there as well.. haha 40 in 2012! Seriously we should have a get together, perhaps get Keith drunk again and draw on his face and body with multiple colored sharpies? Well probably better to use Copic since that can come off easier...lol poor Keith :)
Forth: I also watched the David Hayter panel from AX08 on You Tube

Oh god he is so awesome! I am bummed he didn't make it to the SF signage for MGS4 launch, but wow hopefully he does more of this later on. He has some serious passion about doing voice acting and a good sense of humor. I felt bad on some of the dumb questions that was asked, but he took it like a champ and played along. I need to watch Metal Gear Awesome again!
The best for LAST!:

Please, pretty please on sugar on top, go run out and buy the Gurren-Laggan DVD which is released today! Even tho it is subbed only, it is really worth getting for 9 episode count and the price. I am thinking of getting the LE since it comes with the soundtrack. I can't wait for the premier on SCIFI of the dub later this month. OH WOW Steve Blum as Leeroy.. OMG hahaha!
Bonus: This would be awesome as coffee cups.. guys in ADTRW are awesome!

I think this is a good debate and a excellent article LOL.
This is my favorite quote out of the article:
"We suppose that there are advantages. No viruses (unless the girl runs Windows), and no payoff money if you happen to be a high profile, blackmail-able celebrity (a Gadget Lab blogger, for instance). For me, it comes down to price. If it's cheaper than dinner and a movie, I'm in."

So I was going thru some of my pack rat boxes and found a old comic from Paul Pope back in 1992. I wondered if he was still doing comics thru the magic of google and found out he is doing Batman year 100 and that he has a blog. I am stoaked to see he is still doing comics.
Anywhoo here is his blog:

Also it will be very interesting to see Junko Mizuno working for Marvel. Will her
kowai art style work for super hero comics? Hahah the pic says it all here:

I didn't know until this week that the new Beck LP is coming out on July 8th. Hopefully that means he will be touring again too. I am actually looking forward to this and the new U2 LP later this year.
Could anybody do me a favor and pick up the Mecha Fetus Persona 3 doujinshi which
they will be selling over at the artist alley table B18 at AX. If you accept paypal and can get it for me it would be much appreciated. There is also a dvd of all their animations they have done (which is awesome!) but I have no idea how much either cost.
Check out their blog.

So since I have Fri-Sat off, I haven't had a chance to see what is going on TV in the daytime. Holy crap trailer park trash has spilled into my tv channels! One local channel has like 6 hours of Judge tv shows, even the People's Court! What is ironic is all the commercials are for people who need a job or education. THe biggest train wreaks is of course Jerry Springer which is obviously fake, but damn you can't just turn away.. haha
I wish I could go outside and get out but it is freaking 102 degrees.. I hate life :(

So I went and ended up finding out that they stopped the signage around 5:30. weak sauce because
they did not tell people until 20 min later. I think they could have done the signing a lot better
since people had wrist bands that guarantees a sig. Ah well, I did get a glimpse of seeing him going into the Playstation Store. haha

So I just heard that there is going to be a Metal Gear Solid 4 party on the 14th
at SF Metreon.
What really sucks is that is the date for the dead dog party for fanimecon. I am actually considering skipping the fanime DD because of the following info:
Hideo Kojima is doing a MGS signing on this day at the Metreon in SF.
Kenishiro Imaizumi, Ryan Payton, Yumi Kikuchi, and David Hayter are
also attending.
http://www.us.playstation.com/News/Stor ies/9955
So anybody interested in meeting up and watching the chaos? Hell if I can get that fucking kick ass poster + signed by Hideo that would just make my whole year. It looks like it is from 4-6pm.. heh perhaps I can do both -_-;;;
Also it would be cool to meet David Hayter and ask Hideo to bring Snatcher and Policenauts out here for PSP! lol

I did think it was strange that Anime Expo will be in Downtown LA this year and laughed even more

Since coming back from Fanimecon some kind of 12 monkeys virus started to spread around Sunday or so. I didn't get a cold unlike my brother and husband, but apparently I got sick by other means. Thankfully it seems to be going away but wow I never been so mentally and psychically exhausted in my life like that. I wonder if I am just getting too old to do conventions or I really need to take it easy? I noticed the last two years I get myself too stressed out that I get sick.. *sigh*
This is why Gurren-Laggan is so freaking awesome! The guy who did this AMV match the spirit
of the anime. I urge you guys to get the DVD when it comes out next month. heh

Well I had a good time tho the first two days were very stressful, so much that I got myself sick. I am glad I was able to rest it off and that the Hilton has some awesome comfy beds. I think this was the smoothest fanimecon in quite a while even tho there was some 12 monkeys virus going on at the end. My poor brother Patrick ended up getting sick with that flu/cold :(.
Highlights:
- Didn't get a Sadamoto sketch or autograph (bummer!), but found out that Suezen is still part of Gainax and that he did this awesome sketch for me. I also got a Daicon bunnygirl sketch from Mr. Akai (who didn't "I wish I could quit you" from Gainax...woo), Gurren-Laggan mecha designer (ugh I forgot his name) and of course Mr. Yamaga for signing my RSF LD box.
- Happy that the Gurren-Laggan premier showing of ep 1-6 got a huge crowd. I wish we could have done it in Video Main, but this turned out better then expected. Thank you Toshi for being awesome and that Bandai Entertainment was gracious to let us show
the episodes
- Ran the Gainax Room, which was fun to be able to show some of the older titles that not everybody was able to see. Ended up showing 3 episodes of Nadia instead of two and that the Kare Kano disc was scratched up, so I couldn't show episode 14. The Abenobashi ep 12 showing got a lot of laughs, I totally forgotten how well done that series was. I think ep 12 was the best episode since there was so many in-jokes about America and Hollywood (Not sure about that fucking cowboy thing tho..lol). FLCL ep 1-2 of course brought in a lot of people even after that has been shown a lot on CN. But the biggest was the encore of Evangelion Rebuild movie and the Gurren-Laggan premier.
- Happy that Andrew's premier of Cowboy Bebop: The Song Remains the Same got a big crowd in video main. It is sad that the game was canceled here, but this is a nice alternative to be able to watch the cinemas from the game. I only got to see parts of it, but perhaps latter I can sit down and watch the whole thing. I goofed on him about that he cosplayed as that puppet master from Naruto, but honestly he looked pretty hot.
- Got to hang with Carl for quite a while, I think I got him interested in getting a ipod touch or iphone. I suggested the touch since he can get used to the interface + able to get online and watch music and videos. We also got to see the setup of a beautiful wedding reception of a east Indian couple at the Fairmount.. wow very bollywood! Also ran into Jason who is the editor for Jojo's Bizare Adventure and thank him that he is the one editing the series!
- After all the stress and running around, got to spend some time with Ryan. I can't believe we have known each other for 18-19 years now! It makes me so happy how Anime Hell again brought in the crowds both in Video Main on Saturday and Sunday. This year has one of the best openings I have seen in a long time. I dunno how 2009 OP is going to Top this one, but kudos to Team Anime Hell!
- Went to the Meet Gainax reception, I made a comment that a lot of the guys looked like
John Lennon to me. One girl looked like the doujin artist in Genshiken (not Ono) without the weird pony tail.
- Surprised that there wasn't any staff parties going on like last year. I guess it must have been on the down low or people were too tired to drink late night.
- Was a bit embarrassed that a person Rob and I knows from Sac Anime was being the social butterfly. Normally I would pull a "Frank Rizzo" and tell him to get the fuck out, but luckily he found a shiny object and went elsewhere. I think the comment of him wanting to take a taxi to get back to his hotel ONE block away top it off for me. Oh god..
- OVA who helped with the tech equipment are awesome. I hope fanime has them back for
next year. They really helped out Video Programming with the glitches and setup Video Main to make sure the sound and video came out stellar. I wish they had a office here in Sacramento, so Rob could work for them.
- Got to see Trish with Hajime in tow (he kinda looks like her!) at the Bandai booth. I was a bit befuddled about the question of when my husband and I would have kids (Which Bill from Nikaku asked the same question too!). I didn't want to tell her that I have PCOS and bring down the conversation. I just laugh and said I am trying to figure out on how to have twins to get that out of the way of "life experiences".
Also glad to have some awesome friends who work on staff at fanimecon. We had to take care of two flakey departments to make sure it ran. It made us groan, but we were all able to work together and make the attendees happy. I may be moving up in the fanimecon staff chain and do something else besides Video Programing, but we will see what happens.
Thank god I took today off to rest. heh

Thank god I took today off to rest. heh

Hmm Gurren Lagann is going to be on Sci-Fi on July 28th!
Oh wow that is awesome and quick! Also the best part is watching this on Sci-FI HD channel!
It will be very interesting if this is dubbed or not, hopefully it does well if it is
subbed!

I am pretty stoaked because it is opening up the iphone to do some pretty
nifty stuff especially when it comes to apps and games. I been trying
to download the SDK but the servers are getting hammered. I am hoping
that I can get it soon, tinker with it and perhaps make something cool.
Actually would be awesome if Phoenix Wright was ported over. Capcom
are you listening?!??
